Pedernales

It is located in the province of Pedernales, in the geographic position latitude 17 ° 54 N and longitude 71 ° 40 W. It has a draft of 10.9 meters and a dock length of 100 meters, was built by the company Aluminum Corporation of American (ALCOA) for the export of bauxite and limestone. The structure forms a breakwater consisting of a central pier, surrounded by a rock breakwater forming slopes with slopes into the sea, in the nose of the breakwater is a steel structure with circular tables shaped bristles. Following withdrawal of ALCOA, the small port with reduced activity remained for a long time, operating now for a company of Colombian capital clinker import and export of limestone, bauxite and cement.
